Temporal variability of alpine solifluction : a modelling approach
[摘要] Holocene periods of enhanced solifluction offer newpaleoclimatic information. Long-term observations ofpresent solifluction variability and process studies onmovement mechanisms, as well as model simulationsof the soil heat and water regimes, show the dependence of solifluction on ground freezing. The annualvariability of both processes is strongly controlled byweather and resulting snow conditions immediatelybefore and at the beginning of the winter frost period.Simulated long-term variations during different paleoclimatic scenarios are regulated by both mean preeipitation and temperature changes. Quantitative reconstruetionof Holocene preeipitation during maximumaltitudinal depression of solifluction is shown.
