[摘要] Twoexperimentswerecarriedouttoevaluatehaymadefromfoliageoftwoleguminoustrees(GliricidiasepiumandCajanuscajan),supplementedwithsorghumgrainorricepolishings,asdietsforfatteningrabbits.Theexperimentsbeganwhentherabbits(NewZealandWhite)were30daysoldandcontinuedfor56days.Thecontrolwasacommercialconcentrateformulatedspecificallyforrabbitfattening.GrowthrateonGliricidiasepiumhayandricepolishingswasonlyslightlyless(19g/day)thanonthecontroldiet(23g/day);therewasnodifferenceinfeedconversionbetweenthetwodiets.Gliricidiawassuperiortopigeonpeaforbothgrowthandconversion.Inthesecondexperimenttheproteinsourceswerethesamebutthesorghumgrainwasreplacedbymaizebran.Bothwereofferedadlibitumorrestrictedto60g/animal/day.ThebestexperimentaltreatmentwasGliricidiasepiumhaywithmaizebranforwhichgrowthratewas22g/daycomparedwith29g/dayonthecontrol.Feedconversionwasthesameonbothdiets.Asinthefirstexperiment,thegliricidiawassuperiortothepigeonpea.
