[摘要] X-raydiffractionanalysiswasusedtoidentifytheclaymineralspresentinfourteensubsoilsamplesthatwereselectedtorepresentsomemoreimportantclay-bearingdepositsinBritishColumbia.Theclaymineralogyofthesubsoilsvariedconsiderablybutmontmorilloniticclaymineralstendedtopredominateinthewater-laiddepositsofthesouthandilliteinthesoilparentmaterialsoftheInteriorPlainsregionofthenortheasternpartoftheProvince.
