[摘要] Limeattherateof0,3000,6000,12,000and24,000pp2mwasappliedtofouracidsoilsandallowedtoincubateforaperiodof140days.TherateandextentofchangeinpHwasfollowed.InallfoursoilstherateofreactionwasveryrapidandmostoftheincreaseinpHwasobtainedwithin3daysafterapplication.AtallratesofliminginthefoursoilstherewasageneraldecreaseinpHfollowingthepeakobtainedwithinthefirst30days.ItwasalsofoundthattherateofchangeinpHofasoilthathadbeenlimedwasgreatlyinfluencedbythemoisturecontent.ThechangeinpHwasmuchmorerapidandextensiveat25percentmoisturethanat10percent.
