EFFECT OF VARIOUS NITROGEN FERTILIZERS ON MANGANESE AND IRON AVAILABILITY AS MEASURED BY INCUBATION AND SAND CULTURE STUDIES
[摘要] Aftertwomonthsofincubation,soilstreatedwithinorganicnitrogenfertilizerscontainedmoreavailablemanganesethanthosetreatedwithorganicsources,exceptforthioureawhichincreaseditveryconsiderably.ChangesinmanganeseavailabilitywerepartlyduetopHchangesandpartlytotheoxidation-reductioninfluenceofthenitrogencarriers.Changesinironavailabilitywereverysmallandthisispresumablyduetothechelationeffectofthehumicsubstancesreleasedduringincubationofsoilatroomtemperature.Nitrogensourcesinfluencednotonlymanganeseavailability,butalsomanganeseuptakebypotatoplantsgrowninsandcultures.Manganeseuptakewasaboutthesamewithnitrateandammoniumsalts;however,plantssuppliedwithphysiologicallyneutralandbasicnitrogencompoundscontainedappreciablylessmanganesethanthosesuppliedwithacidcompounds,althoughthepHofthesolutionwasthesameinalltreatments.
