Patterns of DNA and RNA synthesis during the development of ovarian nurse cells in Gerris najas (Heteroptera)
[摘要] Thespatialandtemporalpatternsofnucleicacidsynthesisaredescribedasobservedinvariousregionsofthegermariumfromthethirdinstaruptotheadult.Thenursecellsproliferateinthethirdinstarandundergoendopolyploidizationinthefifthinstar,asrevealedby[3H]thymidineautoradiographyandFeulgen-scanningcytophotometry.NoindicationofDNAunder-replicationoramplificationhasbeenfound.RNAsynthesisoccursthroughoutthedevelopmentofthetrophocytesbutishighestinthefifthinstar.Ultrahistochemicalandelectronmicroscopicautoradiographicstudiesrevealedamasstransferofribonucleoproteinfromthenucleusintothecytoplasm,wherethematerialaccumulatesonthenuclearenvelopeintheformofelectron-densebodies.Theresultsarebrieflydiscussedwithrespecttotheroleofendopolyploidyincellsofhighgeneactivity.
