What are the Medical Coding Software Requirements?

[摘要] Objective:ToidentifymedicalcodingsoftwarerequirementsDesign:Toidentifymedicalcodingsoftwarerequirements,15medicalcodingsoftwareproductsusedinIranand6medicalcodingsoftwareproductsusedinothercountries,weresurveyed.Basedonaliteraturereview,achecklistcontaininggeneralandspecificfeaturesofmedicalcodingsoftwarewasdeveloped.Measurement:Thecriteriausedforthiscomparisonareasfollows:operatingsystemtype;connectedtootherdepartmentsorstandalone;andgeneralandspecificrequirementsofmedicalcodingsoftware.Results:DOSandWindowsoperatingsystemswereusedin4_(29%)and11_(71%)softwareproducts,respectively.Just3softwareproductswerenetworkedproducts,theothersbeingstandalone.Flexibilityandimprovementwere42.8%and41%,respectively.Numericalandalphabeticlistsofdiseasesandsurgeriesenjoyedthehighestandthelowestfrequencywith93.3%and6.6%,respectively.Ingeneral,therearelotsofweaknessesinmedicalcodingsoftwareproductsinIran.Conclusion:Somespecificfeaturesshouldbeincludedinmedicalcodingsoftware,suchas:flexibility;user-friendliness;backupability;satisfactionofhealthcareneeds;softwaresupport,datarecovery:datasharing;parallelsearching;datasecurity,integrity,validity,andaccessibility;databankcoding;deathinformationrecording;andresearcheridentification.
