Remedial Effect of Boswellia Serrata on Thermal Burn Injuries
[摘要] Background:Ithasbeenshownthatinflammationandinsufficientbloodvesselformationdelaywoundhealing,whereasBoswelliaserrata,besidesanti-inflammatoryactivity,increasesbloodvesselformation.Objectives:ThisstudywasperformedtoinvestigatetheeffectofBoswelliaserratainpromotingburninjurieshealinginBALB/cmice.MaterialsandMethods:Inthisexperimentalstudy,aburnwoundwascreatedbyplacinga1.5cm2hotplateonthebackofanimals.Fiftyfourmiceweredesignatedinfourequalgroups,counting14each.ThreegroupsofanimalsweretreatedwithBoswellia2%,silversulfadiazineandvaselinetwotimesperdayfor21days.Thefourthgrouprepresentedthecontrolgroup.Thetotalpercentageofwoundhealingandtimerequiredforcompletehealingwereevaluatedandcomparedbetweengroups,usingtheANOVAtest.Results:ResultsshowedthattheeffectofBoswelliaonwoundhealingwasstatisticallysignificantcomparedtothecontrolgroup(Plt;0.01).Conclusions:Boswelliaserrataisclearlyeffectiveforburninjurieshealingandmightbeusedinpatientswithburnwound.
