Frictional Convergence in Rossby waves in Low Latitudes

[摘要]  The properties of Rossby waves in the surface boundary layer in the low latitudes are studied by the use of a very simplified model. It is shown that concentrated frictional convergence takes place at latitudes where the absolute value of the Coriolis parameter is equal to the frequency of Rossby wave. The frictional convergence associated with the vorticity field is also discussed.
