Fractions of Pig Complement

[摘要] 1. 1. An inhibitor of g.p. C′ activity has been found in two fractions isolated from pig serum.2. 2. For extents of hemolysis ranging from 0.2 to 0.8 the inhibitor reacts with one or more components of g.p. C′ according to first order kinetics with respect to C′ i , the inhibited components of C′, if the assumptions are valid. The reaction is accelerated by an increase in temperature from 25°C to 37°C, as well as by a decrease in the concentration of divalent cations.3. 3. The inhibitor, like C′1, is heat labile and is fixed by immune precipitates formed with rabbit antibody but not by those formed with horse antibody. This suggests that the inhibitor is partially degraded or denatured C′1 which forms hemolytically inactive complexes with one or more components of g.p. C′.
