[摘要] The presence of pain in the cranio cervical and cranio mandibular system is becoming more popular nowadays because sensory, affective, cognitive and emotional components are involved. An infrequent clinical entity is the elongation of the styloid process and/or mineralization of the stylohyoid ligament known as Eagle's syndrome, which may be unilateral or bilateral, with or without symptomatology. This Syndrome should be considered by Dentists in order to make a differential diagnosis with other painful syndromes specially when they face cases of cervical or orofacial pain, which not have a clear etiology, and may even go unnoticed when a panoramic radiograph is not carefully analyzed.
