Concordancia diagnóstica de los cefalogramas de Ricketts y Bimler en pacientes con Síndrome de Clase II división 1

[摘要] Introduction: In Cuba, several cefalometrics methods are used and it has not been very treaty in the revised literature the problem of the existent agreement among the different methods, especially that of Ricketts and Bimler. Objective: To determine the diagnostic agreement of the cefalometrics methods of Ricketts and Bimler in patient with Class II division 1 Syndrome. Methods: This is descriptive, retrospective study and of cross section, the clinical history was used as source of information. For the comparison of the measures of the cephalometric methods of Ricketts and Bimler among the different facial types ANOVA was used. To determine the agreement among the facial types diagnosed by both cefalometric methods, was proceeded to calculate, as agreement measure, the Coefficient Kappa of Cohen. Results: Although in some cases they were weak, direct correlation existed among the variables of both cefalometrics methods. With regard to the agreement to determine facial ype, to these results it corresponds an index of Kappa of 0.851 with a probability associated of 0.000. Summations: The diagnostic agreement of both cefalometric methods for the patient Class II division 1 syndrome and to determine the facial type it was high and statistically significant
