Role of the intestinal cytokine microenvironment in shaping the intraepithelial lymphocyte repertoire

[摘要] LocalresidentIELsarecomposedofdistinctsubsetsofTcellswithpotentcytolyticandimmunoregulatorycapacities.AsIELsarelocatedwithinthisuniqueinterfacebetweenthecoreofthebodyandtheoutsideenvironment,thespecificdevelopmentandfunctionofintestinalIELsmustbetightlyregulated.Toaccomplishthis,thecytokinemicroenvironmentoftheintestinehasevolvedsophisticatedmechanismsthatmodulatethephenotype,ontogeny,andfunctionofthesecells.Inthisreview,wesummarizetheevidencedemonstratingtheoriginofcertainintestinalcytokines,includingIL‐7,IL‐15,IL‐2,TGF‐β,andSCFanddiscusswhatinfluencesuchcytokinesmayhaveonIELs.Moreover,wereviewdatasuggestingthattheabnormalexpressionofcytokinesthatleadstotheheightenedactivationofIELsmayalsocontributetoimmunopathologicalresponsesorexacerbateinflammatorydiseases,suchasIBDandceliacdisease,orpromotecancerdevelopmentandprogression...
