RelB: an outlier in leukocyte biology
[摘要] RelBisoneofthemoreunusualmembersoftheNF‐κBfamily.Thisfamily,arguablythebestknowngroupoftranscriptionregulators,regulatesanastonishingarrayofcelltypesandbiologicalprocesses.Thisincludesregulationofcellgrowth,differentiationanddeathbyapoptosis,andthedevelopmentandfunctionoftheinnateandadaptive‐immunesystem.RelBisbestknownforitsrolesinlymphoiddevelopment,DCbiology,andnoncanonicalsignaling.Withinthelastfewyears,however,surprisingfunctionsofRelBhaveemerged.TheN‐terminalleucinezippermotifofRelB,amotifuniqueamongtheNF‐κBfamily,mayassociatewithmorediverseDNAsequencesthanotherNF‐κBmembers.RelBiscapableofdirectbindingtotheAhRthatsupportsthexenobiotic‐detoxifyingpathway.RelBcanregulatethecircadianrhythmbydirectlybindingtotheBMALpartnerofCLOCK.Finally,RelBalsocoupleswithbioenergyNAD+sensorSIRT1tointegrateacuteinflammationwithchangesinmetabolismandmitochondrialbioenergetics.Inthisreview,wewillexploretheseuniqueaspectsofRelB,specificallywithregardtoitsroleinimmunity...
