[摘要] Inflammationisanindispensablecomponentoftheimmuneresponse,andleukocytesprovidethefirstlineofdefenseagainstinfection.Althoughthemajorstereotypicleukocytebehaviorsinresponsetoinfectionarewellknown,thecomplexitiesandidiosyncrasiesofthesephenotypesinconditionsofdiseasearestillemerging.Noveltoolsareindispensableforgaininginsightsintoleukocytebehavior,andinthepastdecade,microfluidictechnologieshaveemergedasanexcitingdevelopmentinthefield.Microfluidicdevicesarereadilycustomizable,providetightcontrolofexperimentalconditions,enablehighprecisionofexvivomeasurementsofindividualaswellasintegratedleukocytefunctions,andhavefacilitatedthediscoveryofnovelleukocytephenotypes.Here,wereviewsomeofthemostinterestinginsightsresultingfromtheapplicationofmicrofluidicapproachestothestudyoftheinflammatoryresponse.Theaimistoencourageleukocytebiologiststointegratethesenewtoolsintoincreasinglymoresophisticatedexperimentaldesignsforprobingcomplexleukocytefunctions...
