An Energy-efficient Task Scheduling Approach based on Firefly Algorithm

[ 摘要 ] with the rapid development and wide application of cloud computing, how to reduce the energy consumption of cloud data center has become a major issue of green cloud data center. Aiming to the energy conservation, this paper studies the virtual machine scheduling of resource allocation and proposed a novel approach ECFA (Energy Conservation, Firefly Algorithm). Its main idea is shortening the distance with optimums through multiple iterations and reducing the cost on the process of task allocated to achieve the efficient search for the optimal virtual machines. The results show that ECFA achieve the high-speed search for the virtual machines which are more eligible to perform tasks and saving the energy consumption of cloud data center relatively.
